Default Cambered Bar

So I have had a history of shoulder problems and my OH has been lagging behind my other lifts. Recently I have felt like my shoulder pain was more then normal, I've realized they hurt more as my squat volume goes up. I am thinking of trying a cambered bar to help with this problem.

So my question is, has anyone tried squatting with a cambered bar? Thoughts? And what type of bar was it? I am only familiar with the buffalo bar, but at 500 shipped it is a bit out of my current budget.

Advice?

Cambered bars are awesome to alleviate that shoulder stretching that a reg oly bar causes, but it is different; for it hits the lower half of your body more than a regular oly bar... Id recommend buying a couple bars; cambered, safety, buffalo...
But if finances are limited just buy a buffalo bar from Iron minds. It alleviates some of the problems.

I've never squatted witha buff, but it's never struck me as particularly useful, kind of a cross between a straight bar and a camber, not sure whether it's the best of both worlds or the worst.

I have squatted witha cambered adn a safety squat bar. i'd recommend the ssb, but maybe that's just me. People talk about the ssb throwing you forward, and I suppose that's true to an extent; I WOULD say that it's much harder to keep an arch in your upper back. With a cambered bar you have to stay really tight, otherwise that SOB will start swinging around on you

Thanks guys. I have used a SSB and wasn't really a fan. I guess the curve of the buffalo bar seemed apealing, more then a traditional cambered bar.

Anyone use a buffalo bar?

I like buff. bars. THey take some of the stress off of the shoulders without changing the lift much. I like SSBs and GCB's also, but for different reasons. The SSB is great for taking stress off the shoulders and also to strengthen mid and upper back while teaching you to stay tight. Giant cambered bar is great for GMs, and you have to stay really tight on squats otherwise it starts to swing...

Also, with the cambered bar, make sure you get one thats rackable, many aren't the right length for it...
